Questions, answered straight.
Is Orrery a bank?
No. Orrery is a money app. Your pounds are held in a ring-fenced account at a UK bank, kept apart from Orrery's own money, and your crypto is held for you by Orrery.
Can I lose money?
With crypto, yes. Prices can fall fast, and you could lose everything you put in. That's why your crypto is always shown in pounds, the fee is shown before you confirm, and you can switch crypto payments off in one tap.
How does paying with crypto work?
Pick the coin in the app before you tap your card. At the till, we sell just enough of it to cover the bill, at a rate we lock for 30 seconds and show you first. The shop receives pounds as normal.
Which coins can I hold?
Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin and Solana to start. We add coins slowly, and only ones we think are established enough to hold for the long run.
Can I move my crypto out?
Yes, any time, to a wallet you control. You pay the network's fee and nothing else.
When can I join?
We're opening to the waitlist in small groups through 2027, oldest sign-ups first.
